Facebook Live Feed vs News Feed - What's the Difference?

Facebook has again revamped or messed up its homepage (depending on how you will view it) last Friday, October 23, 2009.  On a post at the Facebook blog, Raylene Yung pointed out key differences on the two feeds, as follows:

News Feed - When you log into Facebook, you'll see the most interesting things that happened in the last day in the "News Feed" view. News Feed picks stories that we think you'll enjoy based on a variety of factors including how many friends have liked and commented on it and how likely you are to interact with that story.
Live Feed - Once you've caught up on what you missed, you can click through to "Live Feed" to see what's happening right now. As long as you remain logged into Facebook, you'll continue to see posts and activity from your friends in real-time. You can edit what appears in this view by clicking "Edit Options" at the bottom of the home page.
The main reason for the update is to bring up what may seem interesting to Facebook users, based on user behavior when moving around the site.

If you're ranting about that specific update, you have to forgive the Facebook guys for trying to reinvent the wheel to bring things to the better side.  In this case, moving the Highlights section to the mainstream column to be more visible for users.  And for the Facebook engineers, it will take a lot of work to remove false positives for what is interesting and what is not.

What about you? Is the new homepage riiiigggghhhttt for you?

Myna - Online Audio Editing Made Possible

http://aviary.com/tools/myna

Just received an email from Team Aviary, announcing their new service offering called Myna, an audio editor.  It could perform comparably with desktop-based audio editors available, with the added advantage that they also provide a library that you could mix, match and let it run for the earshot.  Best of all, it executes via your favorite web browser.

The email contains the following quoted message:

We recently released an online audio editor, named Myna. There are lots of really awesome things you can do with it. Here are a few of the highlights:

Powerful Clip Editing
Trim, Loop, Stretch and Reverse your audio clips, width editable loop points, and interactive time stretch capabilities.
Easy Automation
Add fade-ins, fade-outs, pan from left to right, and modify gain over time, with editable control points.
Apply Effects
Add non-destructive effects to your audio clips including Pitch Change, Reverb, Delay, Parametric EQ, and more. files.
File Portability
Import / Export your own audio files, or browse thousands of professional libraries courtesy of APM Music. Mix it down and export directly to your desktop or publish back to your Aviary account.

Nokia Morph - The Next Gen Smartphone?

Nanotechnology meets imagination...  I've been trying to add a video bar widget on my sidebar when something struck my eye... A greenish thumbnail with the title Nokia Morph Concept....  Upon clicking on the video, I was amazed with what the so-called Morph could offer...  It's really impossible at the present state of our technology, yet the very concept that came out of Nokia Reasearch Center proves to be one of the futuristic things that could eventually happen in the near future...

Here's the Youtube clip, courtesy of buddesign:

Apple iTunes on the Twitter Nest

I have recently read a short article which discusses something about Apple having multiple Twitter accounts with their iTunes player...  It seems that the big A has finally realized the potential of selling content to Twitter users by providing updates via multiple Twitter accounts, as listed below:

Microsoft Office 2010 Public Beta on November

Microsoft has announced that it will subject its upcoming Microsoft Office 2010 offering into public beta this November.  According to PCMag.com (refer to the link below), Office 2010 is the smoothest upgrade to ever come in the MS Office parade of upgrades, and has written positive reviews regarding the office suite.

Sharepoint (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_SharePoint) would be very well integrated into the future release, which enables an Office environment to fully embrace the potential of having document sharing and management features loaded off via web browsers.

Aside from Sharepoint, Microsoft will integrate Silverlight, audio, and rich video capabilities to the release.

I wouldn't be surprised if something like a Microsoft Office-based social network (privately managed, of course) would appear on the spotlight with the development capabilities incorporated with Sharepoint right now...

A Beginning of A New Log

After having tried Wordpress for a while, I've decided to stick to the Blogger platform for good.  I've created several testing web logs at the past, yet I came to a thought that those eye candies aren't necessary to bring out good content.

Guess I'll go back to the basics...

Then do all those dirty work again...
